Hello everyone!

It's almost April, and you know what that means! (or maybe you don't, but read on to find out!) April means it's Camp NaNo WriMo! If  you've never heard of Camp NaNo WriMo before, it's short for National Novel Writing Month, just like in November. But instead of being later in the year, Camp NaNo WriMo is in the summer time! This year, that means the two sessions of Camp are being held in April and July!

Still don't know what I'm talking about? National Novel Writing Month means that, in a span of 30 days, participants will write 50,000* words.

That's:

1,667 words per day if they're writing every day.

2,273 words per day if they're only writing on weekdays.

6,250 words per day if they're only writing on weekends.

Scared yet? You should be. Because as T.S. Eliot says: "April is the cruelest month." There is not only Camp NaNo going on during April, but ScriptFrenzy and NaPo WriMo as well. If you're doing all three, you're in for a hard month, but it'll be even more rewarding. `GrimFace242 has written a lovely article about this year's National Poetry Writing Month, and *ShadowedAcolyte has written a very information article about this year's Script Frenzy!

*This year, the hosts of Camp NaNo WriMo, the Office of Letters and Light, has decided that you will be able to choose your word counts, and you are not restricted to working only on novels!

To prepare for Camp NaNo WriMo, I'm going to list a few tips. My very first one is to go join the Camp NaNo WriMo website ([link]. If you have a login for the official NaNo WriMo website, you can log in with that information. Read the articles there, join your very own Cabin (a group of people who can help goad you on). Plan. If you're not a planner, plan. Even if you only plan out your characters, that's better than going in alone and without anything.

Try to get ahead. Even if you only write a couple hundred words more than is required each day, those extra couple hundred will build up.

Don't panic. There are a bunch of people who are going through the same thing you are. Go talk to them.

Have things researched before-hand. This way you don't get distracted with TVtropes when you should be writing.

If you're getting stuck, work on something else. This year they have things set up so that you don't have to work on any single thing.

Always remember to have fun. This isn't supposed to be stressful. If you feel like you're going to have a heart attack, take a break!
